DeLauter, Guardians rally to steal ALCS opener from Rasmussen, Rays

Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Chase DeLauter homered against a previously unblemished Drew Rasmussen to spark a Cleveland Guardians comeback in the 2026 American League Championship Series opener. Rasmussen, the Tampa Bay Rays' ace, carried a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning Monday in St. Petersburg, Fla. DeLauter and the Guardians proceeded to score seven times -- with runs in each of the final four innings of the 7-3 triumph at Tropicana Field. "It was a special night for the guys," DeLauter said on the MLB Network broadcast.
