Furyks had friends among weather gods; PGA Tour Champions event somehow dodged rain

PALM COAST — Standing on the 18th green Sunday after completing his last official duty as tournament host, Jim Furyk looked like a man who couldn't believe his good fortune. "We're really lucky. A lot of places around us, north and south, got a lot more rain than we did," he said after presenting Vaughn Taylor the trophy for winning the Furyk & Friends PGA Tour Champions tournament at the Hammock Beach Resort. In a bit of irony, Jim and Tabitha Furyk gave up better weather when they flew back to Florida from Ireland, of all places.
