Jake Bauers’ free agency outlook takes shape as Yankees miss early rumor list

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jake Bauers could draw interest from several teams after putting together a breakout season, but the New York Yankees do not appear to be among the clubs currently linked to him. New York could use another offensive option, although fitting Bauers into the lineup may prove difficult with Ben Rice at first base and Giancarlo Stanton serving as the designated hitter. The Yankees could potentially find room for him, but Brewers manager Pat Murphy recently made a joke about the franchise while speaking with Bauers.
