Man Utd can complete swap transfer to kill two birds with one stone for Michael Carrick

Manchester United could fix two of their many problems in one go in January. Michael Carrick - or whoever might succeed him - has numerous issues to contend with as he fights to stay in the job following a miserable start to the season. Lisandro Martinez is a concern both on and off the field, while the left-back spot remains a problem following the club's inability to secure a replacement - or at least competition - for Luke Shaw. Last month, Martinez publicly criticised the club's director of football, Jason Wilcox, over the club's summer recruitment.
