Sean McVay: Field goal unit "cost us the game tonight"

The Rams fell to 2-3 on Monday night, due in part to a couple of missed field goals from kicker Harrison Mevis — including a blocked field goal in overtime that, if good, would have won the game. After the game, Rams coach Sean McVay pointed a finger directly at the field-goal unit after the 38-35 overtime loss: “It cost us the game tonight,” McVay told reporters. Last year, McVay fired special-teams coordinator Chase Blackburn after the Thursday night overtime classic in Seattle.
