“Very soft”: Wayne Rooney bemoans key moment that turned match away from Man United in defeat to Atletico Madrid

It was the club's first defeat in Europe this season, but their fourth overall in what has been a very concerning start to the campaign. United did fight their way back into the game, and Bryan Mbeumo, Carlos Baleba and Bruno Fernandes were all guilty of missing big chances in the match. The game took a final decisive turn when Leny Yoro was sent off after a VAR intervention, as he was judged to have brought down Jonathan David as the last man.
