Why football can't grant redemption to Deshaun Watson or Justin Tucker

Football can provide Deshaun Watson with millions of dollars, and with a platform, and even with the roaring adulation of a sellout crowd. We need to be clear about this. As long as those in charge of the Cleveland Browns and the Chiefs are going to keep pointing out, as so many professional sports teams have before them, that it is not their place to determine the guilt of men accused of (but not charged with) terrible offenses, the rest of us should keep pointing out it's not our place to absolve them of anything.
